Job summary

Intramotev seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Vehicle Controls in St. Louis, MO to own the end-to-end control stack for self-propelled railcars and vehicles. You will design server-side trip planning, route and dispatch, and the onboard execution interface across ground and vehicle modules.

You will mentor engineers, partner with Perception on autonomy, and coordinate with Embedded and Applications teams to maintain robust interfaces and documentation. This is a full-time, in-office role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years shipping production software.
• Track record designing networked ground/vehicle systems.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Testing discipline with unit/integration coverage; Git workflow; Linux CLI.

Responsibilities

• Own vehicle-control system architecture across ground and vehicle interfaces.
• Develop server-side trip planning, routing, and dispatch; integrate with onboard execution.
• Design real-time messaging with delivery guarantees for ground-vehicle comms.
• Manage data integrity for track and vehicle data and interfaces.
• Set testing/bar for unit/integration tests and field validation on vehicles.
• Debug production issues and feed learnings back into architecture and tests.
• Lead design/code reviews and mentor teammates.
