LeoForce is seeking a Safety Manager for Federal/Government construction projects in Des Plaines, IL. The role focuses on implementing and managing the Safety and Health Program on-site to protect workers, the public, and the environment.

The candidate should have SSHO/Safety Management background and OSHA 30; minimum 5 years in a similar role and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Strong leadership, communication, and training skills are essential, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Safety Manager, SSHO, or similar in federal/government construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
• CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA standards for construction.
• Strong ability to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and training abilities for safety matters.
• Proficient with safety management software and computer applications.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage site safety and health programs per regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement mitigation measures.
• Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees.
• Investigate accidents to determine causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and report to regulators as required.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into planning and execution.
• Manage safety equipment inventory and ensure proper usage by employees.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and update company safety policies.
• Represent the company in meetings with regulatory agencies on safety matters.
