Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager for federal/government construction projects in the Midwest. The role focuses on implementing and managing the Site Safety and Health Program on-site, ensuring safety for workers, the public, and the environment.

Ideal candidates have SSHO experience, OSHA30, and at least 5 years in a similar role. The position offers a competitive package, risk-based bonuses, and travel to multiple sites as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Safety Manager, SSHO, or similar in federal/government construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
• CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, OSHA standards.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage site safety and health programs per regulations and policy.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections for OSHA compliance and industry standards.
• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement mitigations.
• Develop and conduct safety training for employees.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to identify causes and preventive actions.
• Maintain records of incidents and submit reports to regulators as required.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into planning and execution.
• Manage safety equipment inventory and ensure proper use by employees.
• Stay updated with safety regulation changes and update policies accordingly.
• Represent the company in meetings with regulatory agencies.
