LeoForce is seeking a Safety Manager for Federal/Government construction projects in Des Plaines, IL. The role focuses on implementing and managing the Safety and Health Program on-site to protect workers, the public, and the environment.

The candidate should have SSHO/Safety Management background and OSHA 30; minimum 5 years in a similar role and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Strong leadership, communication, and training skills are essential, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Safety Manager, SSHO, or similar in federal/government construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field.
• CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA standards for construction.
• Strong ability to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and training abilities for safety matters.
• Proficient with safety management software and computer applications.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager for our federal/government construction projects. The individual will be responsible for implementing and managing the Safety and Health Program on-site. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety of our team, the public, and the environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SSHO, Safety Management, and OSHA30. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Develop, implement, and manage the site safety and health programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
• 2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
• 3. Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
• 4. Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees to promote awareness and understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• 5. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and take preventive measures against recurrence.
• 6. Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
• 7. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
