Job summary

Mortenson seeks a Senior Safety Engineer I to implement the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction sites.

The role leads safety programs, audits, OSHA reporting, training, and incident analysis, with up to 100% travel. You will collaborate with client safety personnel and insurer risk engineers to maintain high safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and minimum 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work.
• Minimum of four years of construction safety experience.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Detail-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including site-specific safety activities and training programs.
• Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control data.
• Lead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittals.
• Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics.
• Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standards.
