Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Safety Engineer to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs across Facilities Services, construction activities, equipment hookups, and maintenance in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

This role partners with Facilities, Fab Operations, Engineering, and project teams to establish safe work practices, perform risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of progressive safety/EHS experience.
• Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and safety standards.
• Ability to work in the field and communicate with technicians, engineers, contractors, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Facilities Services safety programs, standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct field safety inspections, audits, and job observations for Facilities and contractor activities.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses and risk assessments for construction, maintenance, tool hookup, energized work, and other high-risk activities.
• Review contractor Safety Plans and Pre-Task Plans before work begins.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analyses; drive corrective actions.
