Job summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the facility's safety programs and hazard elimination. You will lead hazard analyses, educate teams, and help ensure regulatory compliance in a cutting-edge FAB environment.
Collaboration with a diverse safety team will strengthen safety culture and risk management. Ideal candidates have a BS/MS in safety or related field with 7+ years of health and safety experience, plus familiarity with OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Safety, IH, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 7+ years’ health and safety experience.
- Familiar with OSHA Construction and General Industry regulations.
- Semiconductor/FAB experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions during tasks at a semiconductor facility.
- Develop hazard control designs, procedures, and programs; educate others.
- Measure and evaluate effectiveness of hazard controls.
- Ensure task performance aligns with site and regulatory requirements.
- Document and track results to support safety programs.
- Conduct incident investigations and root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
- Lead employee safety training on site requirements.
- Lead monthly safety sub-committee meetings.
- Review pre-task plans, site risk analyses, and SOPs.
- Assist with tiered auditing program and CAP closures.
