Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Safety Engineer to develop and implement robust safety programs across Facilities Services and contractor activities. You will lead field inspections, conduct risk assessments, and drive corrective actions in a high-hazard semiconductor environment.

The role collaborates with Facilities, Fab Operations, Engineering, and project teams to embed safe work practices, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive safety/EHS experience in high-hazard environments such as semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience overseeing contractor safety programs and incident investigations.
• Strong OSHA knowledge and ability to translate safety requirements to field teams.
• Ability to engage technicians, engineers, contractors, and leadership worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs for Facilities Services.
• Conduct field safety inspections, audits, and job observations.
• Perform JHA/JSA risk assessments for high-risk activities.
• Review contractor Safety Plans and risk assessments prior to work.
• Lead safety investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Develop safety metrics and dashboards to identify trends.
• Provide safety guidance for equipment/tool installation and hookup.
• Support emergency preparedness and safety training.
