Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Safety Engineer to lead the development and continuous improvement of safety programs for Facilities Services operations, construction activities, and equipment hookups within our semiconductor manufacturing environment. In this role you will identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and drive corrective actions with field leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive safety/EHS experience in high-hazard environments.
• Experience managing contractor safety programs.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety standards.
• Ability to work in the field and communicate with technicians, engineers, contractors, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Facilities Services safety programs, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct field safety inspections and job observations for Facilities and contractor activities.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and risk assessments for high-risk activities.
• Review contractor Safety Plans, Pre-Task Plans, and permits before work begins.
• Establish and enforce safety requirements for contractors in FAB and facilities.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and drive corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Develop safety metrics and dashboards to identify trends and hazards.
• Partner with project managers and engineers to integrate safety into planning and turnover.
• Provide safety guidance for equipment/tool installation and hookup activities.
