Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Safety Consultant to lead safety activities, evaluations, and incident reviews across business units. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations, develops safety policy, and delivers training while communicating safety concerns across internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, risk assessments, investigations, and safety communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety/industrial hygiene or related area preferred.
• CSP, CUSA, CIH certifications preferred.
• 5 years of experience in safety, industrial hygiene, emergency management, safety management, or compliance planning.
• Experience with incident investigations utilizing a learning team model.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments across energy operations.
• Perform inspections, document reviews, interviews, and safety analysis.
• Organize hazard evaluations and compare hazards to standards.
• Investigate complaints and incidents to identify effective controls.
• Advise safety leadership on reducing injuries.
• Develop safety communications and training materials.
• Track safety performance, prepare metrics and budgets.
• Industrial Hygiene monitoring and environmental exposure assessment.
• Collaborate with departments to communicate safety concerns.
