Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment professional to plan, coordinate and implement company-wide safety programs in Texas. You will promote an incident-free workplace, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide on-site support to projects.

Responsibilities include training, inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance, with a focus on hazard control and safety culture development across field teams.

Qualifications

• 4-yr degree in occupational safety/health or equivalent experience.
• OSHA 510 or 511 certification; First Aid/CPR.
• At least 2 years' experience in construction safety/industrial safety management.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local regulations.
• Ability to identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Experience documenting investigations.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Strong communication and organization.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Access requirements clearance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a safe and healthy culture and safety program.
• Monitor, correct and educate workforce on health and safety.
• Train on safety laws, PPE, hazardous conditions.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Document inspection results and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop THA/JHA for projects and coordinate training.
• Provide on-site safety support.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA and DOT compliance.
• Investigate accidents and prepare reports.
• Attend accident review meetings.
• New hire safety training.
• Issue permits (e.g., confined space).
• Accompany inspectors on walk-throughs.
• Develop relationships with supervision.
• Provide surveillance services.
• Prepare safety paperwork.
• Perform additional assignments.
