Job summary

Canto is hiring its first in-house legal leader to build a modern function focused on commercial contracting as a growth driver. Reporting to CFO, you will design an AI-enabled contracting operation to accelerate deal velocity and scale the business.

Within six months, you will own end-to-end contracting operations, implement foundational systems and playbooks, and become the primary legal partner across Sales, Finance, and the executive team.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership in good standing.
• 5–8 years of SaaS or technology contract experience.
• Expertise negotiating MSAs, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Working knowledge of GDPR/CCPA and data privacy regimes.
• Ability to build processes and legal infrastructure in scaling companies.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial contracting and sales enablement for SaaS agreements.
• Own negotiation and execution of MSAs, DPAs, NDAs within guardrails.
• Scale contracting operations with AI-enabled processes and CLM templates.
• Implement CLM system with templates, playbooks, and workflows.
• Leverage AI tools for contract review and risk flagging.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, and executives on regulatory requirements (US/EU).
