Clockwork Labs is a fully remote-first technology company building SpacetimeDB, a real-time, distributed database platform. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to own the core of SpacetimeDB: the transaction engine, storage, and client protocols, with deep Rust and database-internals experience.

Join a small, ownership-driven team that values collaboration, rigorous testing, and thoughtful use of AI tooling. You will participate in on-call rotations and influence system design and reliability.

Qualifikationen

• Expert-level Rust and Cargo, including ownership, lifetimes, and memory management.
• Strong understanding of MVCC, transactions, WALs, and storage engines.
• Ability to reason about concurrency and systems‑level challenges like deadlocks and I/O issues.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain core components of SpacetimeDB.
• Investigate and resolve database bugs related to deadlocks, race conditions, data-store, and commitlog performance.
• Review pull requests thoroughly and uphold testing and code quality standards.
• Set expectations for AI tooling usage without compromising correctness or maintainability.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
