Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the core of our document-processing platform used by AI products. The role focuses on Rust in core services with occasional work in C#/.NET for customer-facing components.

You will lead high-impact projects, shape platform evolution, and set technical direction across Core and Apps. The position demands 7+ years in backend development, strong distributed-systems expertise, and a proven ability to mentor engineers while delivering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience building and operating backend services in production in Rust or C++.
• Experience leading complex projects across teams, including architecture for multi-region or highly available systems.
• Experience designing features with privacy and compliance requirements in mind, and building those requirements into code.

Responsibilities

• Turn requirements into clear functional and technical requirements with acceptance criteria and trade-offs.
• Define the architecture and deploy/run services on Azure; specify boundaries between services.
• Improve bottlenecks using profiling, latency distributions and load testing; justify choices with metrics.
• Build and run the processing pipeline end to end, including autoscaling and failover across third-party vendors.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team collaboration across Core and Apps.
