Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to help build the document-processing platform powering AI products across the company. The role focuses on cloud-native services, REST APIs, and AI/ML tooling, with opportunities to shape architecture and developer experience.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate cross-functionally, and participate in on-call rotations while delivering scalable systems used by internal and customer-facing applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience with cloud-native hosting (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience designing REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong C#/.NET and SQL with Angular knowledge.
• Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and Git.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to technical decisions shaping product direction, cloud infra, and architecture.
• Design and ship client-facing REST APIs with strong UX.
• Build scalable cloud services processing millions of documents monthly using AI/ML.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, PMs, scientists, and legal teams.
