Job summary

Virtual Staff 365 seeks a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade FinTech applications. You will build robust RESTful APIs and integrations with external financial services while improving security and performance.

You will collaborate with architects and analysts to translate requirements into scalable solutions, owning tasks end-to-end in a fully remote US-based environment. Extensive RoR experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Substantial hands-on experience developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications.
• Strong backend development expertise including application architecture and database design.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience including database queries and performance optimisation.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Understanding of secure software development practices within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with external financial services platforms.
• Write clean, secure, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code following established best practices.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement, security, and modernisation of the core platform including framework upgrades.
