Job summary

Decisiv is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) for a fully remote role based in the United States. You will own complex features end-to-end, modernize legacy systems, and build APIs that serve fleets, service providers, and manufacturers across North America.

Strong Rails fundamentals and systems thinking are essential. As a senior engineer, you will work with modern tooling, collaborate with product and design, and push for high quality with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production web applications with a focus on Ruby on Rails.
• Strong fundamentals in software design and systems thinking.
• Experience delivering end-to-end features in a remote or distributed team.
• Proven ability to design scalable REST/JSON:API or OpenAPI contracts.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in database design and query performance (PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities

• Own outcomes end-to-end from problem definition to rollout and operation.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and integrations with front-end teams.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate ambiguity into shipped product.
• Improve platform reliability and developer productivity through tooling and observability.
• Modernize legacy services for stability, performance, and scalability.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Write clear specs, ADRs, and runbooks to scale decisions across the team.
