Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Senior Robotics & Controls Engineer for turnkey automation projects in the Greater Milwaukee area. This direct-hire role focuses on ground-up, high-complexity systems for global automotive, consumer goods, and heavy industrial clients, with 30–40% field commissioning and a strong commitment to engineering craftsmanship.

Lead robotic cell setups with Fanuc, Yaskawa, or ABB, develop PLC integration, and deploy vision systems (Cognex/Keyence/iRVision).

Qualifications

Requires 2- or 4-year engineering degree.
4–6 years robotics, PLC, and vision integration on custom machinery.
Hands-on mastery of Fanuc, Yaskawa, or ABB robotics with PLC troubleshooting.
Proficiency with Cognex/Keyence/iRVision and CAD/SolidWorks.
Willingness to travel 30–40% and reside within 45-minute radius of Greater Milwaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

Initialize robotic platforms: set up ground-up cell configurations and calibrations on Fanuc/ABB/Yaskawa.
Design control logic and architecture to ensure master PLC handshakes.
Deploy industrial vision systems for part guidance and inspection.
Lead in-house assembly, wiring checks, and EOAT integration.
Execute field commissioning: travel domestically and internationally to deploy on site.
Support applications engineering with layout insights and feasibility data.
Mentor junior technicians to optimize build workflows.
