Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Senior Robotics & Controls Engineer for turnkey automation projects in the Greater Milwaukee area. You will lead ground-up cell builds, interface with Fanuc/Yaskawa/ABB platforms, and drive on-site commissioning and validation.

Role requires 4–6 years of robotics/PLC/vision integration, CAD proficiency, and 30–40% travel. A 2- or 4-year engineering degree is required, with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (2- or 4-year) required.
• 4–6 years robotic, PLC, and vision integration on custom machinery.
• Hands-on mastery of Fanuc/Yaskawa/ABB robot platforms with PLC skills.
• Experience with industrial vision systems and CAD/SolidWorks.
• Able to diagnose across robotic, electrical, and mechanical domains.
• Travel 30–40% with valid driver's license and passport; commute within Greater Milwaukee radius.

Responsibilities

• Initialize robotic platforms and cell setups; calibrations and I/O networks.
• Design control logic coordinating with master PLCs and equipment.
• Deploy and program industrial vision for guidance and inspection.
• Lead in-house assembly, debug, and EOAT integration.
• Execute field commissioning domestically and internationally.
• Support applications engineering with layouts and feasibility data.
• Mentor in-house staff to improve workflows and meet specs.
