Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer in Virginia Beach, VA to lead highway project design and coordination. You will supervise junior engineers, coordinate with multiple design disciplines, and manage comprehensive roadway deliverables from plans to reports.

The role requires a PE license in Virginia (or ability to obtain via comity within six months) and 16+ years of highway engineering experience, including work with VDOT.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program; MS preferred
• P.E. license in Virginia or ability to obtain via comity within six months
• 16+ years of highway engineering experience, including work with VDOT
• Strong communication skills across organizational levels
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently or in a team
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD; proficiency in MS Office

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design of highway projects
• Supervise junior engineers and coordinate with other design disciplines
• Develop roadway plans, profiles, and MTOS/TP
• Prepare construction plans, specs, and cost estimates
• Develop technical reports and coordinate with clients and subconsultants
