Job summary

TYPSA US in Irvine, California is seeking a Senior Roadway Project Engineer to independently lead roadway design for Caltrans and municipal transportation projects. The role requires strong technical leadership, experience with Caltrans/AASHTO standards, and the ability to guide a design team.

You will develop plans, calculations, and specifications, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate with disciplines, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required is a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Eight (8)+ years of progressive roadway engineering experience.
• Experience with Caltrans and municipal transportation projects.
• Proven ability to lead a roadway design team and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Proficient in MicroStation/AutoCAD and highway design software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead roadway geometric design for Caltrans and municipal projects.
• Provide technical leadership to roadway design teams and mentor staff.
• Apply Caltrans/AASHTO standards and develop justified solutions for complex conditions.
• Develop, review, and approve plans, calculations, quantities, and reports.
• Coordinate roadway design with other disciplines to ensure constructible solutions.
• Manage work plans, budgets, and schedules, and communicate progress to leadership.
• Prepare technical documentation and proposals for projects and business development.
