Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D CAD software is essential.
• Experience preparing roadway plans, profiles, grading plans and cross-sections.

Responsibilities

Senior Transportation / Roadway Engineer - Southern California

A nationally recognized engineering firm is seeking a Senior Transportation / Roadway Engineer to help lead the design and delivery of municipal and transportation infrastructure projects across Southern California. This is a high-impact role for a licensed engineer who thrives on technical ownership, agency coordination, and seeing projects through from concept to construction.

You'll focus on roadway and transportation design for local agency and state-funded projects, preparing plans, profiles, grading, and cross-sections to municipal and Caltrans standards, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to move projects from preliminary engineering through final design and construction support.

What You'll Do

• Lead roadway and transportation design for municipal and state-funded infrastructure projects
• Prepare roadway design plans, profiles, grading plans, and cross-sections consistent with municipal standards and Caltrans design criteria
• Support project delivery from preliminary engineering through final design and construction support
• Coordinate directly with public agencies and multidisciplinary project teams
• Contribute to complete streets and corridor improvement initiatives

What You Bring

• Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) - required
• 7+ years of relevant civil engineering experience (flexible depending on qualifications)
• Strong proficiency with Civil 3D CADD
• Hands-on experience preparing roadway plans, profiles, grading plans, and cross-sections
• Experience on municipal or state transportation infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with Caltrans design standards and municipal roadway design criteria
• Complete streets or corridor improvement experience preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills working with public agencies and diverse teams
