Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking a Sr. Roadway Design Engineer in Charlotte, NC to lead complex roadway projects from conception through completion.

You will apply Civil 3D/OpenRoads in design, analyze traffic patterns, and ensure designs meet NCDOT standards while coordinating with public agencies and cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, adherence to budget and schedule, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree (MSCE) preferred but not required.
• P.E. licensure in North Carolina required.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and evaluate roadways for safety and efficiency.
• Lead roadway design projects compliant with NCDOT standards.
• Coordinate with agencies for project approvals and reviews.
• Review plans from subcontractors and approve designs.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
