Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. seeks a Senior Roadway Project Engineer in Irvine, CA to independently lead roadway design activities for Caltrans and municipal projects.

You will guide a design team, apply Caltrans/AASHTO standards, and deliver high-quality design products including plans, calculations, and reports. The ideal candidate will have a California PE license (Civil), eight+ years of progressive experience, and proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads/ORD, Civil 3D, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required is B.S. in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating strong technical geometric abilities and modeling for civil engineering and transportation projects.
• California PE license (Civil).
• Experience with state and municipal transportation agency projects.
• Track record delivering high-quality design deliverables within scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead roadway geometric design for Caltrans and municipal projects, guiding a design team with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical leadership to roadway design teams, setting direction and mentoring staff.
• Apply Caltrans and AASHTO standards; develop solutions for non-standard design conditions.
• Develop, review, and approve design deliverables including plans, earthwork, models, calculations, quantities, and reports.
• Coordinate roadway design with other disciplines to ensure constructible solutions.
• Perform design quality control and inter-discipline reviews to meet project requirements.
