Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Roadway Engineer III for the North Texas office to advance design and delivery of highway projects. You will produce design calculations, reports, and plans, collaborating with project managers and discipline leads to meet timelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 4+ years, or a Master’s with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years and includes mentoring junior staff and applying standard design practices across diverse transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
• Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.
• Attention to quality in design and production of deliverables. Compliance with project, office and company quality procedures.
• Independently progresses the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
• Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric and algebraic principles.
• Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
• Eagerness to develop skills and build career working on challenging engineering projects for key transportation clients.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
• Assist in the development of project specifications.
• Responsible for development of discipline specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
• Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
• Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
• Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs quality control reviews of discipline – specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
