Job summary

CDM Smith's Asheville CEI team is seeking an Inspector to perform both complex and routine construction inspections for roadway and bridge projects, ensuring conformity to plans, specifications and contract provisions. You will read drawings, apply math, and communicate results to the supervisor.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications, a valid driver’s license, and 4 years of related experience, with travel up to 40% depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• NICET/ACI certification if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 4 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to verify materials and processes meet plans and specifications.
• Use equipment and calculations to support inspections; review drawings for inspection readiness.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge and assignment.
• Document inspection results and report to supervisor.
