Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a skilled licensed nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants. This leadership role requires ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and facility policies to maintain the highest quality of care across the unit.

Responsibilities include planning and directing nursing care, training staff, coordinating care plans, and documenting patient progress.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors, personnel and the public.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers and supervise nursing assistants.
• Ensure supervision complies with current standards and facility policies.
• Develop and implement care plans for customers.
• Supervise and instruct nursing staff; enforce departmental policies and dress code.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to the Administrator.
• Perform rounds and monitor nursing duties and physician rounds as needed.
• Coordinate medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Document care details and maintain clear charting and summaries.
