Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants on a day-to-day basis. The role requires adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies to maintain high-quality care.

Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, developing care plans, administering medications as ordered, and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• CPR certificate required or to be certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors, personnel, and the public.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
• Ensure nursing procedures follow established policies.
• Directly supervise and instruct the nursing staff to promote knowledge.
• Ensure all department policies and dress code are followed.
• Develop and implement written care plans for customers.
• Attend and participate in care plan conferences; report concerns to the Administrator.
• Counsel/discipline nursing personnel as needed and supervise daily rounds.
• Record nursing notes and chart patient responses to care.
• Complete admissions, transfers, and discharges; manage med administration as ordered.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing education.
