Job summary

Capital One in Plano, TX seeks a Sr. Manager Pod Lead in the Financial Services Risk Office to provide professional risk judgment and develop strategies that enable business partners to win in the market.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive risk programs, and influence senior leaders with data-driven insights. Hybrid work allows in-office collaboration three days a week (Tue–Thu) with enterprise-wide virtual days Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• At least 3 years of experience in Financial Services or Risk Management
• At least 3 years of experience in project, process, or program management
• At least 2 years of experience in People Management
• Bachelor's, Masters Degree, JD, or MBA
• 7+ years experience in Financial Services or Risk Management
• 5+ years of experience supporting internal business clients
• 5+ years of experience leading cross functional teams
• 5+ years of experience in People Management
• Risk Certifications (CRCM, CAMS, CIPP, ABA Risk Management Certification)
• PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of high performing risk management professionals charged with managing Change Governance (Requirements & Controls), Control Evaluation, Issues & Events, Audits & Exams, and Access Management.
• Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile;
• Identify and assess the impact of the changing regulatory environment on business objectives and risk appetite;
• Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends and provide insights that support internal customers in decision-making;
• Support internal business resource planning by providing transparency to audit and regulatory engagements and commitments;
• Provide guidance and advice to business partners on implementing risk policies and programs;
• Drive collaboration between the risk, compliance, operational risk, and other business support functions (e.g., legal, privacy);
• Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas;
• Identify opportunities to improve risk management practices and develop solutions to perfect risk management, eliminate waste, and deliver an exceptional customer experience
