Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join its Risk Management Team in a role that partners with Corporate Counsel to proactively manage project, contract, and execution risks.

The position demands deep contract risk expertise and leadership in risk mitigation across the AEC industry. The successful candidate will track trends, negotiate terms, and collaborate with project managers and leadership to implement effective risk controls and insurance alignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in risk management and contract negotiations in the A/E/C industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; formal training in contract risk management preferred.
• Thorough understanding of contract terms and their legal consequences.

Responsibilities

• Track external trends, benchmarks, and industry best practices around risk management in the A/E/C industry and make recommendations.
• Negotiate contracts and business terms with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
• Identify company, contract, and execution risks and develop mitigation plans to proactively manage those risks.
• Work closely with insurance brokers and underwriters to satisfy client insurance requirements.
• Work with GEI’s Risk Committee on the implementation of policies and training to reduce and manage GEI’s overall risk.
• Coordinate directly with project managers, senior management, client representatives, and others to quickly resolve questions concerning contractual issues on a time-sensitive basis.
