Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join GEI’s Risk Management Team. This role will work closely with GEI’s Corporate Counsel and Director of Risk Management to identify and mitigate project, contract, and execution risks.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in risk management within the architecture, engineering, and construction sector, with strong contract negotiation skills and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience, including 10+ years in contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and risk management in the A/E/C industry.
• Formal training in contract risk management is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of the A/E/C industry and the risks associated with contracts and execution.

Responsibilities

• Track external trends, benchmarks, and industry best practices around risk management in the A/E/C industry and make recommendations.
• Negotiate contracts and business terms with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
• Identify company, contract, and execution risks and develop mitigation plans to proactively manage those risks.
• Work closely with insurance brokers and underwriters to satisfy client insurance requirements.
• Work with GEI’s Risk Committee on the implementation of policies and training to reduce and manage GEI’s overall risk.
• Coordinate directly with project managers, senior management, client representatives, and others to quickly resolve questions concerning contractual issues on a time-sensitive basis.
