Job summary

Truist seeks a first-line risk leader to manage a team of governance professionals in Consumer and Small Business Banking. You will identify and mitigate risks, oversee risk programs, and ensure alignment with risk appetite and strategic plans.

The role requires leading governance activities, coordinating with GCO, monitoring KPIs/KRIs, and guiding remediation. Strong leadership, communication, and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of industry-related regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of operational and other non-financial risks.
• Ability to learn and adapt to change and competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of business governance professionals to support risk programs and oversight of risks.
• Identify, assess, control, mitigate, and communicate risks within Consumer and Small Business Banking.
• Oversee KPIs and KRIs for the business unit and monitor change activities.
• Support audit and regulatory exam engagements and remediation efforts.
• Coach and develop team members to strengthen governance practices.
