Job summary

The Hartford Steam Boiler, a Munich Re subsidiary, seeks a Principal Specialist to support underwriting profitability by delivering timely risk evaluations for high risk occupancies. You will apply advanced engineering knowledge to assess design, condition, operations, maintenance, and human factors, guiding risk reduction via account engineering and loss control initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred (can be counted for 5 years of experience).
• 15+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, inspection, insurance engineering, and/or repairs of process equipment in high value/risk occupancies.
• 5+ years leading/managing personnel or major equipment projects in relevant industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed risk evaluations of accounts by interpreting design, condition, operations, maintenance and human factors.
• Lead account engineering, loss control initiatives and consultative risk control engineering services.
• Develop, implement, and maintain engineering guidelines across multiple high risk occupancies; train and lead other members of the High Risk Group.
