Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions seeks a seasoned Risk Claims Manager to lead auto liability and workers’ compensation claims. This is an exempt, individual-contributor role with no direct reports, reporting to the Senior Director of Compliance.

You will investigate claims, coordinate with insurers, set reserves, and drive loss-reduction strategies while ensuring regulatory compliance and high service standards.

Qualifications

• At least seven years of extensive claims experience in a senior-level, individual-contributor role.
• Extensive knowledge of liability claims administration, including litigation avoidance.
• Understanding of medical treatments, tort, venue and jurisdictional matters; strong investigative skills.
• Strong independent decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Personally investigate and manage the company’s claims; work with insurers on reserves.
• Identify claims needing escalation and gather information for resolution.
• Direct property, auto, and workers’ compensation claims; coordinate defense counsel when needed.
• Provide excellent service to insureds/claimants via phone and written communication.
• Prepare statistical reports and lead claim file reviews; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement measures to minimize losses and improve safety; maintain professional conduct.
