Sun Life Financial, Inc. is seeking a Senior Risk Business Analyst to support Archer Risk operations, bridging business needs with technology teams and AI initiatives. You will elicit requirements, manage the backlog, and ensure compliance alignment across risk platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner support role, or similar role with increasing responsibility; 7+ years preferred for data-heavy environments.
• Bachelor's degree, college diploma, or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, including familiarity with Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary business-facing point of contact for Archer Risk
• Triage Archer Risk incidents, service requests, data issues, access-related inquiries, and enhancement requests
• Develop understanding of Archer Risk and Archer Shared applications, workflows, and data structures
• Lead requirement discovery sessions with stakeholders and document scope, objectives, risks and success criteria
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, data attributes, and reporting needs
• Collaborate with Product Owner to define, refine and prioritize Agile backlog items
• Support Agile ceremonies and backlog refinement to ensure business readiness
• Translate business needs into data attributes and source-to-target mapping considerations
• Analyze processes, data flows and pain points to identify opportunities for optimization
• Develop recommendations balancing risk, compliance and delivery capacity
• Partner with stakeholders to plan, test, roll out, and support new or enhanced applications
• Review and develop high-level designs, test strategies, and rollout plans
• Triage requests, gather estimates, and manage delivery priorities
• Identify gaps, risks, interdependencies, and mitigation strategies
