Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior Risk Advisor to provide audit and advisory services for our non-insurance operating assets, focusing on financial, strategic, and entity-level risks and controls. You’ll partner with management to design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls across subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Financial Audit & MAR Manager, you will lead risk assessments, document processes, deliver high-quality audit reports, and train management on risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required (in related field).
• 5+ years of experience in risk, audit, or controls.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Audit Manager with audit and advisory engagements on major initiatives.
• Apply COSO framework to design and monitor entity-level controls.
• Analyze processes to identify risks, gaps, and mitigation strategies.
• Document processes, risks, and testing per framework.
• Provide training and guidance on risk identification and mitigation.
• Lead ad-hoc audits, report findings, and track remediation.
• Perform control deficiency assessments and action plans.
