Job summary

This position is located in Carson City, NV in the Right-Of-Way division. The Engineering Technician IV coordinates internal assignments, reviews, and submittals for the team, ensuring deadlines are met and projects stay on track.

Engineering Technicians perform a broad range of technical duties supporting professional engineers, including drafting, surveying, testing, inspection, and land rights work across civil engineering areas. Strong data handling and drafting skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with related field and two years of experience in a specialized engineering function.
• High school diploma plus three years of progressively responsible experience in engineering functions.
• One year of experience as Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with field and lab tests, gather data, and ensure accuracy per standards.
• Prepare submittals and coordinate information for engineers and stakeholders.
• Perform technical research to ensure compliance with federal/state requirements.
• Maintain records and data in filing systems and enter data for analysis.
• Conduct field inspections of projects, wells, and right-of-way mapping; document results.
• Draft maps, charts, graphs, tables, and contours for projects and right-of-way plans.
• Perform surveying duties to set control points and establish right-of-way lines.
• Test materials and soils in lab settings and maintain equipment calibration.
• Research records to determine ownership, boundaries, encumbrances, and titles.
• Perform calculations for government surveys and boundaries; support project needs.
