Job summary

The State of Nevada seeks an Engineering Technician to perform field inspections, testing, surveying, and to document contractor work for prompt payment. You will also mentor less experienced Tech I & II staff on the crew.

Responsibilities include drafting, calculations, and support of civil engineering projects, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with relevant coursework; or 2 years related experience.
• Up to date knowledge of engineering drafting methods and standards.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with field and lab tests and data collection.
• Interpret and review contract plans, water rights, and right-of-way documents.
• Perform drafting assignments for maps, plans, and contours.
• Maintain records and analyze data to ensure compliance with policies.
