Job summary

The State of Nevada’s Right-Of-Way Division in Carson City seeks an RWSS Supervisor to coordinate statewide survey services, mentor staff, and review mapping and documents before approval. You will oversee land surveying work, resolve boundary conflicts, and support conveyance documentation for the state highway system.

You will supervise staff, participate in hiring, manage project timelines, prepare cost estimates, and ensure proper retention of survey records and related materials.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in surveying, mathematics, or physical science with three years of land surveying experience or equivalent combination.
• Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor is acceptable as qualification.
• Two years as Engineering Technician IV in Nevada State service also satisfies the requirement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate subordinate staff and assign work; participate in hiring decisions.
• Oversee statewide survey services for the rights‑of‑way program and coordinate related projects.
• Assemble land ownership information and estimate project costs for survey services.
• Maintain water rights inventories and secure necessary water rights documents.
• Oversee contract negotiations, billing, and compliance; coordinate with the DOT Board and other agencies.
