Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking Unix/Linux professionals to support a strategic UNIX Platform Modernization and automation project in Chicago. Responsibilities include managing RHEL servers, VMware environments, and patching activities, with a focus on high availability and reliability.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years of Red Hat Linux experience, strong automation skills with Ansible, and familiarity with networked storage and file systems. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of Red Hat Linux experience (RHEL 7x) and related admin/engineering tasks.
• Experience with Ansible for build/patch automation on RHEL/OEL environments.
• Knowledge of storage, clustering, and networking for Linux platforms (NFS, fiber, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Manage Red Hat Linux servers across 6,7,8,9 families in physical and virtual environments.
• Support VMware vSphere hosting in highly available setups.
• Plan, implement, and document security patches and changes to Linux servers.
