Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with RHEL expertise to maintain and secure our Linux infrastructure across physical and virtual environments. You will manage VMware ESXi/vSphere, craft automation with Ansible, Bash, and Python, and automate networking tasks using NETCONF/YANG and CLI scripting.

The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team, and familiarity with backup, DNS/DHCP services,

Qualifications

• Experience as a Linux System Administrator with RHEL.
• Hands-on VMware ESXi and vSphere experience.
• Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
• Scripting in Bash and Python for automation.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Administer VMware ESXi hosts and vSphere environments.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows for RHEL using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Automate network tasks using Ansible, Python, NETCONF/YANG, and CLI scripting.
• Create scripts and use APIs to integrate systems and extract data for automation and reporting.
• Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades; update admin tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Enforce system security policies and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with network and security teams for integration and compliance.
• Configure and maintain BIND DNS and KEA DHCP.
• Maintain awareness of enterprise backup solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents.
