Job summary

PVT in Artesia, NM seeks a skilled Linux System Administrator to maintain and secure our Linux infrastructure, including RHEL, VMware ESXi, and network services. You will implement automation with Bash, Python, and Ansible, and collaborate with network and security teams.

The role includes patch management, incident response, on-call rotation, and thorough documentation. Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team in a mission-critical

Qualifications

• Experience as a Linux System Administrator with RHEL.
• Hands-on VMware ESXi and vSphere administration.
• Automation skills in Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Administer VMware ESXi hosts and vSphere environments.
• Develop and maintain automation workflows for RHEL systems using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Automate network infrastructure tasks using Ansible, Python, NETCONF/YANG, and CLI scripting.
• Create scripts and utilize APIs to integrate systems and extract data for automation and reporting.
• Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades; update admin tools and utilities.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce system security policies and procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with network and security teams for seamless integration.
• Configure and maintain BIND DNS and KEA DHCP.
