Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior RHEL System Administrator to manage and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems within a dedicated production network. This hands-on role emphasizes automation, repeatable processes, and reliable infrastructure across on-prem, cloud, and lab environments.

You will operate in an Agile setting on a mission-critical program, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Requires Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years experience or equivalent
Proficiency with RHEL 8.x+ and system administration
Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server and Ansible
Knowledge of Linux-based cloud, on-prem, and lab environments
Experience mentoring junior/mid system administrators
Strong security compliance and patch management practices

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, support, and enhancements to RHEL production systems
Analyze architecture to improve reliability, availability, monitoring, and automation
Automate tasks using Ansible playbooks
Manage RHEL patching via Red Hat Satellite and Ansible
Operate to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability
Mentor junior system administrators
Maintain a weekly schedule within core hours with after-hours work as needed
Configure, manage, and harden RHEL OS and storage allocations
