Job summary

GDH Consulting, Inc. seeks an experienced Enterprise Linux Administrator to oversee and modernize Red Hat-based infrastructure in Oakland. Design, deploy, and maintain Linux systems, automate provisioning with Ansible, and ensure security/compliance standards.

The role requires 7+ years of Linux experience, RHCSA/RHCE preferred, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a full-time, hybrid position with on-site and remote work components.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise Linux administration experience.
• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Proven experience building and maintaining RHEL Gold Images.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite administration.
• Strong automation skills with Ansible Automation Platform.
• Proficiency in Bash, Shell, or Python scripting.
• Experience creating and deploying RPM packages for enterprise apps.
• Support for large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer enterprise Linux environments based on RHEL.
• Build and maintain standardized RHEL Gold Images aligned with security standards.
• Perform OS upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle management for Linux systems.
• Administer Red Hat Satellite infrastructure, including provisioning and content management.
• Develop automation using Ansible, including playbooks and roles.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and operations using IaC practices.
• Create and maintain automation scripts (Bash/Python) to improve efficiency.
• Lead modernization, platform upgrades, data center migrations, and cloud integration projects.
• Collaborate with application/infrastructure teams to onboard and support enterprise systems.
• Create and maintain operational documentation and procedures.
