Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager I - Advanced RF Systems to own the technical roadmap for RF payloads, transponders, SAR, and communications systems from prototype through production.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage high-stakes subcontracting, and coordinate with customers in national security, civil, and commercial sectors. A TS/SCI clearance is required and base pay is competitive for the CA market.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in physics, math, science, or other technical discipline.
5+ years of program management experience
A demonstrated track record of owning a technical program, product, or team end to end and carrying it across the finish line under real pressure.
Evidence you've moved real hardware and software from prototype toward scalable, flight-ready production
Understanding of the nuances of transponders, SAR, or advanced communication systems
Experience identifying technical, schedule, or supply-chain risk and neutralizing it before it impacts the mission
Active TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

Command the Lifecycle: lead team to take RF payloads from concept to flight and own the roadmap.
Lead multiple programs; make architectural calls with Chief Engineers on phased arrays and DSP.
Build the Bench: foster a culture of bold decisions and mentorship.
Forge the Supply Chain: manage key suppliers and subcontracts to protect schedule and margin.
Unblock Excellence: coordinate cross-functional teams to remove roadblocks and maintain high quality.
Influence the Future: main customer contact for NSS, civil, and commercial; collaborate with BD on proposals.
