Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Lunar RF Systems group. You will own analog, digital, and power circuits for space-rated RF products, including SDRs and amplifiers, guiding them from concept through flight readiness.

The role requires leading cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring reliability under extreme conditions, and mentoring junior engineers. A strong background in high-speed mixed-signal design and PCB layout is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years (or Master's with 6+ years) experience.
• Experience developing high-speed mixed-signal circuits for aerospace applications.
• Circuit design and PCB layout for high-speed ADCs, DACs, PLLs, DDRs, NAND/NOR flash, and FPGAs.
• Knowledge of signal and power integrity, grounding topologies, and high-speed layout best practices.
• Experience with worst‑case analysis, FMEAs, and SI/PI simulations (Hyperlynx, Ansys SIWave).
• Proficiency with scripting (Python, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE) and Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

• Develop analog, digital, and power circuits for RF systems including software-defined radios, SSPAs, and LNAs.
• Own full product lifecycle from concept to flight readiness, ensuring quality and performance.
• Design, manufacture, and test high-reliability RF PCBs.
• Develop efficient power management solutions (DC/DC converters) for harsh environments.
• Create and review manufacturing docs (schematics, layouts, BOMs).
• Develop test plans and procedures; execute lab verification and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate across thermal, mechanical, and radiation testing disciplines.
• Work with Technical Program Management on parts selection, procurement, and scheduling.
