Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area seeks a Senior RF Communications Engineer to own end-to-end RF and optical communication systems for spaceflight applications. You will lead the RF team, architect and deploy mission-critical systems, and work across spacecraft, ground stations, and C&DH/payload subsystems to ensure interoperability.

The role requires 8+ years in avionics and comms, strong EM simulation experience, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
• 8+ years in avionics and comms systems development and verification.
• Knowledge of radios, antennas, RF components and waveforms.
• Experience with EM simulations (HFSS, CST, TICRA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership experience.
• US citizenship, permanent resident, or eligible for status.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for RF communications systems; mentor engineers.
• Architect and deploy mission-critical RF systems end-to-end.
• Own end-to-end system performance: link budget, phase noise, coverage.
• Design and run RF test campaigns across bench to on-orbit tests.
• Drive procurement strategy and supplier management.
• Define and maintain system architecture and performance parameters.
• Coordinate interfaces across space relay platforms and ground stations.
• Maintain configuration control and documentation; support lab work.
