Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Revenue Cycle Coding Educator to serve as the SME and educational resource for medical record coding and patient charges. You will design, implement, and audit education programs to drive compliant coding across RI and HIM staff, nurses, and clinicians.

You will lead curriculum development, review CMS changes, and coordinate annual audit plans to ensure accurate professional and technical billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus six (6) years health care coding experience with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS classification systems.
• An Associate’s degree and additional two (2) years of experience may be considered (total 8 years).
• A High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Designing, creating and implementing educational and training curriculum for new processes and coding projects.
• Creating the audit and quality reviews schedule for the fiscal year with contingency plans.
• Reviewing CMS changes and their impact to RI and HIM operations.
• Conduct monthly audits and quality reviews to identify opportunities for improvement in coding and charging guidelines.
• Lead projects to improve the quality of clinical documentation and final coding for billing.
