Newell Brands seeks a Lead, Retirement Benefits to provide operational leadership for retirement programs and the employee financial wellbeing strategy. This remote role guides governance, plan administration, fiduciary duties, and stakeholder communications across the company’s defined contribution program.

You will own dashboards, scorecards, and data insights to drive measurable outcomes, partnering with Total Rewards and vendors to ensure compliant, secure, and cost-effective program

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in retirement benefits, employee benefits, retirement plan administration, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of defined contribution plans and ERISA, IRS, fiduciary, governance and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading retirement plan operations, governance, vendor management, audits, internal controls, and issue resolution.
• Experience developing employee financial wellbeing or retirement readiness strategies with integrated communications.
• Advanced Excel skills with data validation, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting; familiarity with HRIS/payroll interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategic direction for defined contribution plans within Total Rewards.
• Lead end-to-end retirement plan administration and governance.
• Manage relationships with recordkeepers, trustees, actuaries, and consultants; ensure SLAs and governance routines.
• Oversee compliance, nondiscrimination testing, filings, audits, and data collection; surface material risks.
• Develop and execute employee financial wellbeing and retirement readiness strategies.
• Lead design and management of financial wellbeing programs, tools, and vendor solutions.
• Define and monitor success measures using workforce insights and dashboards.
• Communicate retirement benefits strategy and educate employees through campaigns and resources.
• Own quarterly retirement plan dashboard and scorecard; present trends to leadership.
• Analyze plan, demographic, payroll, and vendor data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Maintain documentation, controls, and audit-ready records; drive preventive improvements.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments and implement required changes.
