Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Lead, Retirement Benefits to provide operational leadership for our retirement programs and employee financial wellbeing strategy. This role partners with Total Rewards leadership and manages governance, compliance, and vendor relationships across a multi-brand organization.

The position requires 4+ years in retirement benefits, advanced Excel, and experience with defined contribution plans, ERISA, and fiduciary responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive retirement benefits experience
• Strong knowledge of defined contribution plans, ERISA and IRS rules
• Experience leading retirement plan operations, governance, compliance, audits, and internal controls
• Experience developing employee financial wellbeing/retirement readiness strategies
• Advanced Excel skills with data validation, reconciliation, reporting; familiarity with HRIS/payroll interfaces/dashboards

Responsibilities

• Execute strategic direction for the defined contribution plan and align with Total Rewards strategy
• Lead end-to-end retirement plan administration, governance, and vendor oversight
• Manage relationships with recordkeepers, trustees, actuaries, consultants, and partners
• Oversee annual compliance, nondiscrimination testing, filings, and data collection
• Develop and monitor financial wellbeing programs integrating retirement savings, budgeting, and investing education
• Design and implement program roadmap, address service gaps, and ensure accessibility and cost-effectiveness
• Define success metrics for engagement, utilization, and retirement readiness and report to leadership
• Communicate retirement program strategy to employees and stakeholders with clear campaigns and materials
• Own quarterly dashboards and scorecards; highlight trends and action items to governance committees
• Analyze plan and participant data to identify risks, opportunities, and remediation steps
• Maintain audit-ready records, controls, calendars, and reconciliations; drive preventive improvements
